What is Swagbucks? Make Money From Home

One of the most common questions on the Internet today is what is the best way to make money online. There are plenty of opportunities out but the easiest has to be Swagbucks, and no this post is not sponsored in any way by Swagbucks either. In my experience, the easiest way to make money (even if a little) from home is with Swagbucks

So what is Swagbucks?

Swagbucks is a website that allows you to earn points (swagbucks) that can be redeemed for gift cards by completing a variety of tasks or activities; anything from watching videos, completing deals (such as purchases through online stores), or taking surveys. Even using their search engine can score you some extra money/points. The way that they make their money is through advertisements and getting you to see other sites. The amounts will vary; this can be as little as a few cents a day and up to a couple of dollars a day depending on how active you are on their site.

How long does it take to make money?

This varies based on your goals and how active you are on the website. I usually recommend holding out before cashing out Swagbucks because you can find discounts on amazon gift cards at $25. The current payout for a $25 amazon gift card is 2,300 Swagbucks, which is usually 2,500. You are able to get this deal once a month.

It is important to remember that it does take up to 7-10 days to get an order once you redeem Swagbucks for gift cards. They have a variety of gift cards from Amazon, Walmart to Paypal. Unfortunately no Disney gift cards but I budget so that I redeem cards that will help me save money in the long run and I can put the difference into a vacation jar. I’ve currently saved up another $60 worth of Swagbucks that I need to cash out

My typical use

On some days, I’ll put the videos on in the background and earn money that way. It’s usually about 1 cent for every 2-3 videos but this changes based on featured videos. On days where I want to be more active, I may do a survey or two which vary from 5 minutes up to 25 in most cases and pay out from 25 cents to a couple of dollars. So you can base it around your schedule and ambition level for the day

The Videos used to be broken down into playlists to make it easy to have it run in the background. It would make it easier to find ones that have shorter run times with the most payout. However this has changed within the past year. There are now several different categories that you can view but not broken down in to as small of playlists. It also requires you to click thumbs up or down to get credit. This is not difficulty but you have to be mindful of it playing in the background as it will time out.

Swagbucks Discover

There are just a few of the offers that are available. These are fairly straight forward with the descriptions of each one. They all have different tasks and duration. Such as with Hulu, you sign up for Hulu and get 1250 Swagbucks back at the time of writing this. I’m not sure how long you have to keep the account before receiving the Swagbucks. A lot of the deals make it worth it depending on if it is something you would normally spend money on. I wont do a deal just to get money back.

Swagbucks Survey

These always vary with how long it takes to complete. I have had surveys that will pay 25 cents for 5 minute quick and I’ve had 10 minute surveys that pay out $1-3. Swagbucks also has daily 1 cent questions which take 2 clicks. It may not seem like an efficient way to make money but it adds up…. 30 cents a month to be exact 😀

Shopping!

This is a quick and easy way to make money is to shop for things you would normally buy. If you shop online, you can activate a link through Swagbucks.com to the online store. This will help to get a certain percentage back on your purchases. The amount will vary from store to store but adds up quick. Make sure to keep checking back as the money back can fluctuate. Over the year, there will also be bonus times when the percentages increase.
