The Seas in Epcot Closing – Rumor

In case you missed it, there has been a lot of Disney rumors flying around within the past week or so. The biggest of which was the possible closure of two big areas at Epcot. One website, that will remain unnamed, had reported rumors that The Seas in Epcot closing, as well as The Land. For those that have been there before, you know that these house several different attractions. The Land includes such rides as Soarin and Living with the Land, as well as several restaurants including Garden Grill.  The Seas is home to the Seas with Finding Nemo, Turtle Talk with Crush and Epcot’s largest fish tank. Coral Reef is also housed at The Seas.

But is this true?

Much to the relief of many, Disney announced on Twitter that The Seas and The Land will not be closing at this time. This was in response to somebody asking about the supposed rumor. They are quoted as saying that The Seas and The Land will remain in Epcot “into the future”. With all of the recent changes and future changes coming to Epcot, it would not be surprising this occurred. Which is likely why this rumor took on a life of its own. So for the time being both areas are safe.

It is important to remember that all of the Disney parks are in constant flux. We have seen over the years that things change, are upgraded or completely removed. With Disney reporting that both areas will be with them into the future, it does not mean that they will not be replaced later down the road. We may potentially see The Seas in Epcot closing in the far future. Personally, I would like to see them updated a little but not removed. It also highlights the fact that there needs to be some question to any rumors that may come out in regards to Disney.
