Previously we had found out the changes to the Christmas party at Magic Kingdom later this year. Now we are pleased to get more information rolled out and what to expect. Part of the information released was the dates and prices to expect. This may prevent some level of heart failure as you click the buy button later on. As before, the new Very Merriest after-hours event will replace Mickey’s Very Merry Christmas party. Let’s jump into what to expect during the most cheerful time of year.
When are the Very Merriest parties?
The parties are each 4 hours long after the park has closed for the day. The party will start at 9 p.m.and run until 1 a.m. For guests going to the party, you can access the part starting at 7 p.m. to get an extra 2hrs at Magic Kingdom. There will be a lot of options for dates during the months of November and December. The first party is set for November 8th and the last party being on December 21st, 2021.
November: 8th, 9th, 11th, 12th, 14th, 16th, 18th, 19th, 21st, 23rd, 28th, 30th
December: 2nd, 3rd, 5th, 7th, 9th, 10th, 12th, 14th, 16th, 17th, 19th, 21st
If you get to the park starting at 7 p.m., you’ll be able to catch the Disney Enchanted fireworks show done at the end of normal park hours. For those that didn’t know, Disney Enchanted is part of Walt Disney World’s 50th Anniversary celebrations, along with other festivities.
How much does the party cost?
The price of the Very Merriest Parties is around the same levels as the Christmas Party in the past. However, compared to the Boo Bash, this is a lot more expensive. Depending on when you go to Very merriest after hours, the price will vary from a low of $169 to the price of $249. This is per person per event. Annual Passholders and Disney Vacation Club as usual will get a $10 discount on tickets for some of the events. Currently, the discount is only for the first 2 weeks of November. Unfortunately, there is no discount for any of the December tickets currently.
Tickets will go on sale on August 20th, 2020 which will be available online and by calling Disney. They can be reached at 407-939-7947. For guests that are staying at Disney Resort, they can get their tickets starting on August 17th, 2021.
What fun will there be?
The biggest part of this after-hours event is the return of PARADES! You read that correctly, I am pleased to announce that Disney will be bringing back parades to Disney World. For the parade, it will be Mickey’s Once Upon a Christmastime Parade. This will be the first parade to grace Magic Kingdom since March of 2020! Mickey’s Once Upon a Christmastime Parade will include Mickey and his pals, along with Frozen characters, Toy Story, and of course Santa Claus.
Minnie’s Wonderful Christmastime Fireworks will return for Very Merriest after hours. This was a relatively new show during the last Mickey’s Very Merry Christmas Party in 2019. It will bring fireworks along with a Christmas overlay to the Castle.
What about around the park?
Walking up Main Street, you’ll be treated to Christmas lighting, decorations, and Christmas music in the background. Special Holiday magic shots will be available with the Disney PhotoPass, but will need to be purchased. While making the stroll down the street, make sure to look up to see the Snop, the magic snowfall.
As you make your way around the park, you can stop by Tomorrowland for a dance at the Club Tinsel Dance Party. Looking for Disney characters in their seasonal best, you will be able to find them scattered around the park. If you find yourself in Frontierland, you can check out the Reindeer Wranglers. This is similar to the Dapper Dans performing seasonal songs. Making your way around the park can cuz you to work up an appetite, try some of the complimentary snacks. This includes “free” Popcorn, bottled beverages, ice cream novelties, and other seasonal treats.
Overall there is a lot to the party but it is also a lot of money for a 4-hour event. For some, it may be completely worth it and for others, it is not worth the splurge. Either way, it will be a magical event!
