Universals Great Movie Escape Announcement!

There has been big news today from Universal Studios with Universals Great Movie Escape announcement on social media. As of today, Universal Orlando released plans for a brand-new escape room. It will be available for guests to try at Universal CityWalk. Even more exciting is that it will start later this year. Above all, this will be a new type of addition to the area. Most importantly, it will include two escape rooms themed after iconic movies with “Jurassic World” and “Back to the Future”. Jurassic Park franchise or IP has been prevalent in Island of Adventure. However, Back to the Future has not been in the parks since 2006. This was when Back to the Future The Ride closed at Universal studios. Fans will rejoice with the new addition coming back to the area!

What was announced

Universal’s Great Movie Escape will bring two distinct and extraordinary escape adventures to the heart of Universal CityWalk. “Concepted and designed by the same creative masterminds responsible for the wildly immersive haunts of Halloween Horror Nights, Universal’s Great Movie Escape will bring two distinct and extraordinary escape adventures to the heart of Universal CityWalk,” Universal said in a news release. “Guests will be pulled into the dinosaur adventures of Jurassic World or the time-traveling pandemonium of Back to the Future as they solve their way through a multi-sensory experience like no other with interactive state-of-the-art missions, fascinating storytelling, and highly crafted sets.”

When will Great Movie Escape open?

The new escape room will debut this autumn. In addition, tickets will go on sale in the coming months, according to Universal. The new venue will take over “The Groove” dance club, which is next to Antojitos Authentic Mexican Food. Moreover, adding an escape room will increase the level of entertainment in the area and more options outside of the parks 

Lots of changes coming to Universal

Universal Studios Florida, Universal’s Islands of Adventure, and Universal’s Volcano Bay Water Park are all part of the Universal Orlando Resort. Universal’s largest theme park, Epic Universe, is currently under construction and scheduled to open in 2025. In short, Universal has continued to expand and add more attractions for guests.
