Saving Money on Disney Resort During Your Vacation

Traveling to Disney tends to be an expensive trip, and only increases on a yearly basis. However, there are ways to be able to save a little cash on your magical vacation. Some may work for you and others may not save as much money. But there are certain things that will add up over time. Here are the things that we have found for saving money on Disney Resort 2022 and in the future.

Look out for deals

Disney will release deals sporadically throughout the year. There are usually fall deals, one during the summer and sometimes springtime as well. However, the deals vary each year. One time it may be for Annual Passholders. Other times, it may be for Disney Plus subscribers. Additionally, there are times when it just deals for hotels in general. If you have booked your resort or trip, and they release a deal, there is still hope. If you meet the criteria for the current deal and there is availability, you can have it applied to your vacation. Remember, that not all deals are for everyone and not for every hotel. Typically, the Moderate and Deluxe resorts will save more money but the value resorts will still save 10-15% on average.

These deals can be found on the Walt Disney World website and we will keep you up to date on any new releases as well!

Saving money with Family suite at Disney

If your family is traveling with another family or extended family, room cost adds up. If you can manage to get by with one family suite instead of multiple rooms, this could be a good saving in the long run. You can split the costs which can significantly reduce the cost and bring it to reasonable savings. Honestly, some of the family suites are the best-themed rooms on Disney property. We stayed at the Art of Animation Finding Nemo family suite and this was one of the best rooms we have stayed in, at Disney.

Make use of transportation

If you are staying on-site and not planning on going to other parks such as Universal or local shops, then this could save money. If you are only needing to take Disney transportation, then you can save money by forgoing renting a car. Getting to and from the airport can be done through Uber and Lyft. Most hotels have at least buses, but some also have monorails, boats, or the Skyliner. This makes it easy to move around Disney and get more immersed in the vacation.

Bounce back offers

On occasion, Disney will offer a bounce-back offer for a resort discount. For this, you must be staying at a Disney resort currently and they will provide an incentive to come back. This is a one-time offer that is only available for a short time, usually before you check out of your resort during your first trip. The percentage discount will vary from time to time. However, we have gone a few times within the past couple of years and have not seen any bounce-back offers. It is unclear if this is due to the current guest level or if it will come back. But this had been a way to save money in the past.

Do you need to stay at a Deluxe resort?

If you are planning on just sleeping at the resort and not taking advantage of the other amenities, then look for a cheaper hotel. You don’t need to stay at the top tier if you are using it only for a place to crash at the end of the night. Don’t be paying for accommodations that you aren’t going to use. We know we are using the pool for a little bit and then only for sleeping, so we will typically stay at a value resort. Moreover, this will also let you put the money towards other areas of your vacation.

Saving money by staying off-site at Disney

Staying at a Disney Resort helps to be immersed in the vacation but is not always necessary. If your budget doesn’t allow for this, then staying off-site can save a bit of cash. Some neighbor hotels still have the same perks as the Disney resorts. Such as having buses to the parks or are within walking distance. With these hotels, you can get deals through websites such as Orbitz or Kayak. You may be able to get a deal with the hotels and may have more openings than the other Disney resorts.
