2020 Disney World Price Increase

Disney World Decreasing Park Hours in Sept

This is breaking news for Disney world! When the parks had reopened, the theme park hours had been cut back from their pre-pandemic routine. But now we see that it appears that Disney World decreasing park hours in September more than before. Each park looks to be cut by 1 hour per day with the exception being Epcot, which has been cut back by 2hrs. This was updated earlier today and the news has spread like wildfire.

So what will Disneys new hours be?

The new hours will be starting as of Sept 8th

  • Animal Kingdom will be open from 9am to 5pm (change from 6pm)
  • EPCOT will be open from 11am to 7pm (change from 9pm)
  • Hollywood Studios will be open from 10am-7pm (change from 8pm)
  • Magic Kingdom will be open from 9am to 6pm (change from 7pm)

For Animal Kingdom, this is going back to what it was several years ago before River of Light was started. This was less of a surprise with the hour changes. For the other parks, this is a significant cutback from their previous hours of operation.

Other cutbacks from the park

This has been a wild week for Disney with the announcement of Mulan and the third-quarter earnings report. There has been a sharp decrease in the attendance at the park and appears to be made up by a vast majority of annual passholders.

We saw earlier this week that Disney has closed temporarily Tangierine Cafe in Epcot to move cast members around to other areas. It appears that Disney is constantly working to find what is working and what is not drawing a lot of traffic. Then adapting their resources around to reduce potential revenue loss.

It is important to remember that the hours could change at any time and they could be corrected. However, I believe at this point, it is unlikely that the hours will be increased back up in Sept.
