Villain-Con Minion Blast
As Universal Studios Florida prepares for more Minions and mayhem, it’s time to say “bello”! Gru’sbeloved henchmen will appear in the previously announced Illumination’s Villain-Con Minion Blast, an all-new adventure that will debut this summer. Although it was once home to Shrek, this will be a great addition to Universal Studios park. Find out more about what devious fun is to be expected below!

What is the Minion Blast?
Our beloved masked staff members are leading us on another adventure and expanding the minion universe. Fans of the Minion franchise will remember the Vicious 6 from Minions: The Rise of Gru. Now you will jump into Villain-Con and become a participant that will be put to the test to join them. This will be a score-based attraction.
“The world-class attraction transports guests to Villain-Con – the biggest criminal convention on the planet – to take part in an epic competition to see if they have what it takes to become the newest member of The Vicious 6, a notorious group of supervillains from the hit film, “Minions: The Rise of Gru.” — They’ll wind and glide through various scenes where they earn points by blasting a variety of items and causing as much mayhem and destruction as possible. It’s a unique, mischief-filled experience that’s so much fun, it’s a crime.”
Where is the Minion Blast located?
This convention will be held in Production Central, the current home of Illumination’s Villain-Con Minion Blast, across from Despicable Me Minion Mayhem in Universal Studios Florida. This will take the place of the shuttered Shrek 4-D experience, which shut down in January 2022.
In addition to the introduction of this new activity, it was revealed that Production Central would change into Illumination Avenue in a territory dubbed Minion Land! Together with Minion Mayhem from Despicable Me and the upcoming Minion Cafe, this new land will develop into a place full of hijinks, bananas, and “papoy.”
In the summer of 2023, Illumination’s Villain Con Minion Blast is slated to cause mayhem. Moreover, some areas around the Minion Blast have begun to open already!
