One of the biggest parts of D23 2024 was the announcement of an expansion of Magic Kingdom. There have been on going rumors for years that Villians would get their own land. However, it was initially thought that it would be a fifth park. But nonetheless, Villains land at Magic Kingdom will soon be a reality. Adding even more hype for Disney World.
Heres what we know about Villains Land at Magic Kingdom
Additionally, a new land focused on Disney Villains will be developed beyond Big Thunder Mountain, featuring two major attractions along with dining and shopping options. This expansion will be the largest in Magic Kingdom’s history, pushing creative boundaries to introduce darker, intriguing elements per Disney. Furthermore, Disney parks blog teases that it will be a, “place where poison apples are aplenty and magic potions can ruin your whole day.” With all these villains in one place, “happily ever after may feel like just a distant dream.”
Guests have long inquired on whether or not this would ever be a reality. It is likely with the success of franchises such as Maleficent and the Descendants, along with other competing parks *cough, cough*, that has propelled this into existence. Beyond Disney’s initial statement, there has been no word on what to expect in the new land. Hopefully, this lives up to the hype and doesnt get cut down the road. With the level of excitement, the project should become one of the main focuses on the Walt Disney World revitalization.
Where will Villains Land at Magic Kingdom be located?
Although it is reported to be beyond Big Thunder Mountain, it is unclear if this will be directly above or to the side of the attraction. If done properly this could be a pretty expansive new land similar to those of Star Wars at Hollywood Studios and Pandora at Animal Kingdom.
