And with everything going on it’s not easy to get your Disney fix from home.  However, we’re here to help! We found a recipe for this incredible Disney dessert you can easily make at home. If you haven’t been here before, then in the future, it is a must-try. They have great food and better desserts. Now you can try this Ooey Gooey Toffee Cake recipe that is inspired by Liberty Tree Tavern!

Liberty Tree Tavern is an overlooked restaurant that has great options for the entire family. Try out this version of the Ooey gooey toffee cake can compare next time you are in Liberty Square. It has a crispy cake base and, as the name implies, an Ooey Gooey top! It is great when topped with vanilla ice cream.

Ingredients 

Cake bottom

  • 1 box add yellow cake mix
  • 1 egg
  • 1/2 a cup of butter 

Topping/filling

  • 1 – 8 oz package of cream cheese
  • 3 eggs
  • 1 teaspoon of vanilla extract
  • 1 cup of butter
  • 3 ½ cups of powdered sugar 
  • 1 ¼  cup semisweet chocolate chips
  • 1 cup of Heath bar pieces

Baking

Preheat the oven to 325 degrees Fahrenheit

Cake bottom

Mix yellow cake mix, one egg and half a cup of butter in a mixing bowl until the batter thickens then gently press into a 13”x 9” greased baking pan.

Cake top layer

In a second bowl, put the cream cheese into the mixer and slowly whipping it

Slowly add eggs and vanilla to the cream cheese and continue to mix. 

Melt the butter then add it to the cream cheese mix

Slowly add powdered sugar and continue to mix as it will start to thicken turn up

Finally, add in the chocolate chips and toffee pieces

Pour this mix over the cake bottom and put into the oven

Cooking time

This Ooey Gooey Toffee Cake recipe will take about 35 to 45 minutes to cook
