High School Musical the musical the Series – This will be a unique spin on the original movie, where the students of (fictional) East High School, where the movie was originally filmed compete for a spot to put on their own production of High School Musical. This will provide new songs that will have the feel of the original but still keeps its own identity.

Blast from the past

Lizzie McGuire will be making a comeback with the original creator. Most noteworthy, Hillary Duff will be reprising the role, more details will be coming out soon. The show will take a look at Lizzie as a grown-up but keep the feel of the prior show.

Back to Monstropolis

Monsters at Work – This is a spin-off of Monsters, inc that everyone knows and loves. This is a work based comedy that will follow Tylor Tuskmon and the issues surrounding the switch from the power of screams to the power of laughing. As we all know, Monstropolis was powered by screams but this is being flipped on its head. If it’s anything like the movies, it will be amazing! They are bringing back John Goodman and Billy Crystal for the show which means this will certainly a hit!

A couple based off best sellers

There is a new film coming out called Star Girl and is based off the best selling book by Jerry Spinelli. This will be a motivational movie about being yourself along with others. This will start America’s Got Talent winner from 2017, Grace VanderWaal.

Timmy Failure: Mistakes were made is based on the books by the same name. The premise is that Timmy believes that he is the best detective in town. He has a partner, who is a 1,200lb imaginary polar bear, and his sidekick Rollo Tookus.

Lady and the tramp will have a reimaging with this live-action remake. This was a known movie coming to Disney plus but more details have been released. Most of the dogs that star in the movies was a rescue dog from the shelter. This uses a lot less CGI than other Disney live-action movies, which I think will add to the overall feel of the remake.

Based on true events

Togo is based on true events during the 1925 serum run to Nome. This was also known as the great race of Mercy where dog sled teams pushed through harsh Alaskan terrain to deliver Diphtheria Antitoxin serum. Willem Dafoe has signed on to play the role of Leonhard Seppala, the Norwegian sled dog musher.

WandaVision was a known Disney + exclusive but now we are getting more hype with it! This has not started filming at this point but was recently described as the show as a 6-hour movie. There still has not been a lot of details released for this show

A few of the biggest surprises for the D23 Disney Plus news came from Marvel! One was the animated series Ms Marvel! This will have a cross over into the MCU movies later on in Phase 4. Moon Knight is also a newly announced animated series coming to Disney +. Moon Knight has a close following which will be interesting to see how that is integrated into the MCU.
